Sneydes-Point Cook Road Intersection-Two steps closeR

After a huge concerted advocacy effort by the Point Cook Action Group(PCAG), council and the community, the PCAG have recently received a positive letter from the Hon Jaala Pulford, the Minister for Roads and Road Safety responding to our concerns over safety issues at the intersection of Sneydes and Point Cook Road. In the response received from the Minister it is stated that “Vic Roads and the Wyndham City Council have identified that the signalisation of the intersection of Sneydes and Point Cook Road is required to manage the increasing congestion and safety at this intersection”. The letter also states “that the proposal will be considered for funding under a future program”. This statement follows the welcoming news that Wyndham City Council has provided $250,000 to prepare a master plan for this intersection in the upcoming budget.

A big thank you to the community for supporting the post card campaign and for positive comments we have received following the release of an awesome video featuring young people. Together we have bought a case for upgrading of this dangerous intersection two steps closer –well done everyone. However – be assured the campaign is continuing for funding to be available as soon as possible for this project.
